The modernization of official inspection and the evolution of the regulatory environment for food production will be among the main themes of the SIAVS 2026 Congress. On the day August 5 (Wednesday), the 9 AM to 12:30 PM, a Rooms 112 and 113 will receive the Panel Updates on the Inspection Model, bringing together representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), specialists, and agribusiness leaders to discuss the changes that are transforming Brazilian sanitary inspection.
The panel will address initiatives that are reshaping the relationship between public authorities and the productive sector, focusing on efficiency, deregulation, risk-based management, and strengthening self-regulation programs. Throughout the program, participants will have access to the latest updates on regulations, tools, and programs that directly impact the daily operations of agribusinesses and the competitiveness of Brazilian animal protein.
The program will open at 9 AM, with moderation of Marcia Ferrari, from Copacol. Next, Carlos Goulart, Secretary of Agricultural Defense of MAPA, will give the presentation “Self-Control Law”, addressing the advancements provided by the new regulatory framework and its impacts on official inspection and the self-control systems of companies.
To 9:30 AM, Juliana Satie, do MAPA, will detail the Incentive and Accreditation Program for Official Veterinarians, an initiative that broadens the participation of qualified professionals in inspection activities and strengthens the operational capacity of the official system. After a coffee break, the schedule resumes at 11 AM with discussion panel regarding program adhesion, gathering practical experiences from companies already participating in the initiative. The debate will feature Cesar Henrique de Oliveira Salce (Seara), Andreia Dal Pissol (Aurora Coop) e Roberto Pedroso (BRF/Marfrig), bringing different perspectives on implementation, challenges, and results.
Concluding the morning programming, at 12:00, Izadora Moreira, from DIREC/DIPOA/MAPA, will give the lecture “The digital age of business registration”, showing how the digitalization of regulatory processes simplifies procedures, increases administrative efficiency, and strengthens the integration between the productive sector and official services.
During the afternoon, from 2 PM to 5 PM, the program continues with the Feed & Food Symposium, expanding the debates on innovation, food safety, and scientific communication applied to the production chain.
The Updates Panel in the Inspection Model integrates the technical program of the SIAVS 2026 Congress and offers an opportunity for industry professionals, veterinarians, managers, inspectors, researchers, and sector representatives to learn, directly from the responsible authorities, about the main regulatory changes that are shaping the future of sanitary inspection in Brazil.
