Economist Eduardo Giannetti opens the program with macroeconomic forecasts for agribusiness and Brazil
São Paulo, August 5, 2024 – The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, the Minister of Agrarian Development, Paulo Teixeira, and the Governors of Paraná, Ratinho Junior, and Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello, are among the authorities confirmed for the opening ceremony of the International Animal Protein Exhibition, SIAVS, the largest animal protein industry event in Brazil, which begins tomorrow, August 6, at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo.
The opening ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a keynote lecture by economist Eduardo Giannetti. The presentation, moderated by The Agribiz managing partner Luiz Henrique Mendes, will bring macroeconomic perspectives and insights for the animal protein production chain, agribusiness and Brazil in the international scenario.
Following the keynote lecture, the official opening ceremony of the event will take place. In addition to ministers and governors, authorities such as the President of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture, Pedro Lupion, among others including federal deputies and senators, state secretaries, mayors and other representatives, will be present.
Organized by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association, ABPA, SIAVS will run until August 8, featuring an extensive lecture program and the largest exhibition of Brazil’s meat processing industry.
The trade fair is free to attend and will bring together more than 100 Brazilian brands from companies and cooperatives producing and exporting poultry, pork, beef, eggs and fish, across more than 30,000 square meters dedicated exclusively to SIAVS.
Unique in Brazil, SIAVS brings together producing and exporting companies and industry suppliers, connecting the entire production chain in one single space, from start to finish.
Thousands of buyers and potential clients from Brazil and abroad are expected for business meetings with meat processors. Supported by the Brazilian Supermarkets Association, ABRAS, SIAVS will host retail and wholesale companies from all regions of Brazil. Delegations and independent importers from dozens of importing markets are also expected. In the last edition, more than 50 countries were represented.
The exhibition area will also include hundreds of companies that provide technology for the meat processing industry. Equipment for farms and processing plants, genetics companies, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, input suppliers and technology providers, among many others, will be present at SIAVS.
More than 25,000 visitors are expected throughout the event, including approximately 2,500 rural producers.
In addition to business opportunities, SIAVS will offer a broad program designed to promote a true sector immersion. This includes SIAVS Experience, an interactive space featuring virtual reality and exhibitions of protein production stages.
SIAVS will also host a dedicated innovation area, SIAVS Talks, featuring presentations by 21 startups showcasing technologies focused on productivity, sustainability and technological advancement in production.
In another area of the event, more than 80 speakers from Brazil and abroad will address competitive and sanitary challenges, production quality, technological advances across multiple areas and other relevant topics as part of the SIAVS lecture program. A large portion of the content is free and open to industry professionals.
