The country’s largest poultry and pork trade fair will feature a broad program, with the expected presence of President Jair Bolsonaro at the opening ceremony.
São Paulo, August 8, 2022 — As the world’s largest producer and exporter of poultry meat and the fourth largest producer and exporter of pork, Brazil will host, starting tomorrow, Tuesday the 9th, the International Poultry and Pork Show SIAVS. Promoted by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association ABPA, the event will take place until next Thursday the 11th at Anhembi Park in São Paulo and is expected to welcome the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, at the opening ceremony.
In addition to Bolsonaro, the opening ceremony on Tuesday, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., will be attended by leading authorities from the country’s main producing and exporting states. This reinforces the political relevance of the event and its role as the main forum for debate on the future of the sectors. After the ceremony, President Jair Bolsonaro and ABPA President Ricardo Santin will walk alongside guests through the corridors of the SIAVS trade exhibition.
Prior to the ceremony, at 9:30 a.m., the opening lecture of SIAVS will be delivered by the Minister of the Environment, Joaquim Leite, addressing the theme “Sustainability and Food Production.”
As the largest trade fair of the poultry, pork, and egg production and export chains in Brazil, SIAVS has already achieved records even before its opening. Organizers have reported growth of more than 30 percent compared to the last edition in 2019, and the exhibition will be twice the size of the 2017 edition. The 2022 edition will therefore feature more than 200 companies and organizations across over 20,000 square meters of exhibition space.
All major equipment manufacturers for the sector, genetic companies, laboratories, feed producers, and service providers will participate, along with nearly 50 agroindustrial companies producing poultry, pork, eggs, farmed fish, beef and dairy cattle, as well as buffalo production. SIAVS 2022 is expected to attract purchasing decision makers from slaughterhouses, integrated and independent producers, importers from target markets for Brazilian proteins, wholesale and retail supermarket chains, among other clients.
SIAVS 2022 will also feature the participation of Banco do Brasil and Caixa Econômica Federal. With special credit lines for the agribusiness sector, the financial institutions will bring mobile units stationed within the exhibition area. According to ABPA estimates, more than 20,000 visitors from 50 countries are expected. “The fair will feature several exclusive attractions focused on encouraging technical development, innovation, and growth of the animal protein sector. Millions of reais in business are expected during the event, marking the return of the largest poultry and pork event. We are highly motivated,” said ABPA President Ricardo Santin.

MultiProteins - In addition to poultry, pork, egg, and genetic material companies, this edition of SIAVS will also include companies from the farmed fish, beef cattle, dairy, and buffalo sectors. The participation format follows international trade fair standards, promoting business meetings with domestic market clients and potential importers. Partner entities will also hold meetings with national and international stakeholders.
SIAVS Talks - An unprecedented initiative at the event, SIAVS Talks will bring together business incubators, research institutions, academics, and industry entrepreneurs in an exclusive space within the trade exhibition. SIAVS Experience - Designed to promote an immersive experience within the production chain, the SIAVS Experience area will cover more than 70 square meters dedicated exclusively to this purpose. Presentations will address the sectors, high quality production, the country’s role as a partner in global food security, and the importance of overcoming barriers to food production and distribution worldwide.
SIAVS - Organized by ABPA, the main poultry and pork industry event in Brazil will be even larger than the previous edition held in 2019. The commercial area has been expanded by 30 percent, adding new annexes to the space traditionally occupied by the trade fair. Space sales have already been virtually completed.
In addition to business opportunities, SIAVS will host the largest technical congress in the sector, with an intense program and more than 100 speakers from Brazil and other countries.
The political relevance of the event is another differentiator. Authorities from the national executive and legislative branches, as well as from state governments, are expected, strengthening the event’s role as the main forum for debate on the future of the sectors.
In 2019, the event welcomed more than 20,000 visitors from 50 countries, with over 170 exhibitors. Across dozens of congress rooms, presentations by more than 100 speakers from Brazil and other countries were delivered to 2,400 congress participants.
