Zoetis participates in SIAVS 2024 with its portfolio for poultry, swine, cattle and fish

Zoetis, the world’s leading animal health company, is participating in the International Animal Protein Show (SIAVS), the main industry event in Brazil. Held in São Paulo, SIAVS brings together the key players in the animal protein production chain, including poultry, swine and cattle.

With a comprehensive portfolio of medicines and solutions for food producing and companion animals that support veterinarians and industry professionals with more than 300 product lines, Zoetis brings to SIAVS some of its main solutions for poultry, cattle, swine and fish.

“For us, it is very important to support an event like this, which brings together the entire animal protein production chain. The role of animal health companies in the protein production process is essential so that members of the production chain can meet sustainability goals through healthier and more productive animals. In this context, Zoetis operates in line with the continuous animal health care cycle, which includes predicting through genetics, preventing through vaccines, diagnosing through detection and treating diseases,” says Luis Xavier Rojas, President of the company, who will also be present on the first day of the event.

This year, the company will showcase the innovative tilapia vaccination machine Fishteq NFT20 at its booth. In addition to vaccinating, the machine counts, measures and grades fish. “Brazil is the first country to vaccinate tilapia using this equipment, which is already successfully used in other countries for the automatic vaccination of species such as salmon and trout. Since its launch, this new technology has contributed to increasing the efficiency of tilapia farming in the country,” says Renato Verdi, Director of the Poultry, Swine and Aquaculture Business Unit at Zoetis.

In poultry production, the company has focused on developing hatchery solutions. For this reason, Eduardo Muniz, Technical Services and Applied Research Manager at Zoetis and PhD in Avian Pathology, will present the lecture “In ovo vaccination: from A to Z”.

Still regarding hatchery solutions, the company recently launched Poulvac Procerta HVT IBD to expand its portfolio of vectored vaccines. “This vaccine is a powerful and updated tool to protect flocks against Gumboro and Marek viruses circulating among broiler operations in Brazil, including variant strains of Gumboro,” says veterinarian Gleidson Salles, Marketing Manager for the Poultry Unit at Zoetis. Recombinant vaccines with an HVT vector offer flexibility, as they can be administered both in ovo and via the subcutaneous route. They also provide long lasting immunity.
