Figures refer exclusively to sales closed by producers of meat, dairy products, farmed fish, eggs, and genetics at the largest industry event in Brazil.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The largest poultry and pork industry event in Brazil ended last Thursday, but business calculations are still ongoing. Surveys conducted by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) indicate that business projections generated during the International Poultry and Pork Trade Show (SIAVS) are expected to exceed USD 800 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

The figures result exclusively from the participation of 48 agribusiness companies producing and exporting poultry, pork, eggs, dairy products, duck, farmed fish, and genetic material. These actions were carried out within SIAVS through a partnership between ABPA and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Deals closed by exhibitors of equipment, feed, biological inputs, certification companies, and other event participants are not included.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the companies consulted, the business conducted and contacts established during the event are expected to generate USD 880.3 million in exports over the next 12 months. During the three days of the event alone, associated companies reported that business transactions reached USD 544.3 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to ABPA, SIAVS attracted importers to S\u00e3o Paulo from markets such as Colombia, Peru, Denmark, South Korea, Malaysia, South Africa, the Philippines, Mexico, Thailand, Nigeria, Iraq, Qatar, the Dominican Republic, Germany, and the United States, in addition to traders and other traditional buyers of Brazilian export products.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, during this year\u2019s SIAVS, the partnership between ABPA and ApexBrasil brought 28 foreign journalists to S\u00e3o Paulo through the Image Project, 15 importers through the Buyer Project, and 15 opinion leaders from strategic markets through the Opinion Leaders Project.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSIAVS was a historic milestone for the animal protein production chain in several aspects, whether political, technical, or commercial. The figures and surveys showed that business promotion and the generation of foreign exchange revenues for the production chains far exceeded expectations. The volume of business projected and conducted throughout the Anhembi halls will have a significant positive impact on the trade balance of Brazil\u2019s poultry and pork industries,\u201d said ABPA president Ricardo Santin.<\/span><\/p>\n
