SIAVS Promotes Competitiveness for Poultry and Swine Producers

Small and medium sized suppliers and producers of poultry, swine and eggs from across Brazil will take part, from August 9 to 11 at Anhembi Parque, in the International Poultry and Swine Show SIAVS, the largest event for these sectors in the country. As host of the largest poultry and swine trade fair in Brazil, SIAVS is supported by SEBRAE and will encourage the creation of new opportunities and investments for small and medium sized entrepreneurs, from producers to sector companies, through business matchmaking rounds and direct sales, as well as image building initiatives and value enhancement of the production chain.

The event will also feature an extensive program focused on the technical development of these entrepreneurs. An example is the Producer Project, which offers free lectures on best practices, production management, economic and environmental sustainability of farms, and the strengthening of operational controls. Organized by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association ABPA, SIAVS will be even larger than its previous edition held in 2019. Its commercial area has been expanded by 30 percent, adding new annexes to the space traditionally occupied by the fair.

According to ABPA President Ricardo Santin, the promotion of business opportunities, technical exchange and encouragement of investments in technology will expand the competitive capacity of these small producers, while also stimulating the development of production hubs with potential economic and social impacts. “By encouraging entrepreneurship and the technological advancement of small farms, SIAVS reinforces its position in the sector as a platform for fostering the country’s economic and social development, promoting investments and new business opportunities for the entire production chain,” says ABPA President Ricardo Santin.

In addition to business opportunities, SIAVS will host the largest technical congress in the sector, with an intense program and more than 100 speakers from Brazil and other countries. The political relevance of the event is another differentiating factor. Authorities from the national and state executive and legislative branches are expected, further strengthening the event’s role as the main forum for debating the future directions of the sectors.

In 2019, the event welcomed more than 20,000 visitors from 50 countries, with over 170 exhibitors. Across dozens of congress rooms, more than 100 speakers from Brazil and other countries delivered presentations to 2,400 congress participants.
