Brazil’s Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, will deliver the opening keynote of the International Poultry and Swine Exhibition SIAVS, the largest event for these sectors in Brazil, which will take place from August 9 to 11 at Anhembi Parque in São Paulo.

The confirmation was made during a meeting held last week with the president of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association ABPA, Ricardo Santin, and the association’s director of institutional relations, Marcelo Osório, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy.

The presentation will take place prior to the official opening ceremony of SIAVS, considered the largest political gathering of Brazil’s poultry and swine sectors, which will now also include the participation of the farmed fish, beef cattle and dairy sectors. In its previous edition, SIAVS welcomed the then Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, as well as governors from six states, senators, members of congress and other authorities. 

“Indications of the future paths of Brazil’s economy will be fundamental for the debates that will follow at SIAVS. They will also serve as guidance for the topics addressed by political leaders during the opening ceremony, a moment when we will present key points aimed at protecting sector competitiveness and ensuring food security for Brazil and for countries that import Brazilian products,” highlights Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA. 

The SIAVS opening ceremony will take place on August 9, Tuesday, starting at 9:30 am, at the Celso Furtado Auditorium at Anhembi Parque.
