First place winner will join ABPA at an international trade show; second and third places will receive tools to support their studies
The deadline for submitting research projects to the ABPA Applied Research Merit Award ends this Friday, May 31. The initiative is promoted by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association, ABPA, during the International Animal Protein Show, SIAVS, which will take place from August 6 to 8 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo.
This year’s edition is exclusively for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Brazilian universities.
Research projects related to the following areas are eligible for submission: Production, Management and Housing; Nutrition; Technology, Processes and Public Health; Animal Health; and Environmental Sustainability in poultry, swine, beef cattle and farmed fish production.
A judging committee made up of academics and professionals from the agribusiness chain will evaluate the projects based on criteria such as applicability to the production chain and other factors.
The top ranked project will receive airfare and accommodation to take part in an international initiative organized by ABPA at one of the world’s largest food trade shows, either Gulfood in the United Arab Emirates or SIAL Paris in France, according to the researcher’s choice. The main authors of the second and third ranked projects will receive research support tools as an incentive to continue their scientific studies.
To participate, students must register for the SIAVS lecture program. The rules for submission and presentation of papers, as well as additional information, are available at https://siavs.com.br/trabalho-cientifico/ .
