With negotiations held at the event, the sector projects USD 2.03 billion in exports over the next 12 months
Brazilian poultry and pork exporters are projecting shipments worth USD 2.03 billion over the next 12 months following meetings held during the International Animal Protein Exhibition (SIAVS), the largest event for the sectors in Brazil, held last week in São Paulo, Brazil.
The initiative carried out during SIAVS was organized by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), which also organizes SIAVS, in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The action generated 9,200 business meetings, 2,000 of them with new clients. Importers from more than 50 countries visited the agribusiness exhibition area during the event in São Paulo.
During the three days of the event alone, USD 192.8 million in export deals were closed, involving poultry, pork, eggs and poultry genetics. These results were achieved through coordinated actions under the sectoral projects Brazilian Chicken, Brazilian Pork, Brazilian Egg, Brazilian Breeders and Brazilian Duck.
Around 60 agribusiness companies from the sector took part in SIAVS over the three days, either with their own stands or through the agribusiness pavilion.
“These figures reinforce SIAVS’s position as a meeting point for the global animal protein industry. The data demonstrate the positive impact of the initiative held in São Paulo for Brazil’s poultry and pork sectors, which also included beef producers, fish, dairy, inputs, equipment and several other production chains,” highlights ABPA President Ricardo Santin.
