August 4 to 6, 2026 Brazil | São Paulo | Distrito Anhembi – Av. Olavo Fontoura, 1209
Applications are now open for the ABPA Award for Applicable Research at SIAVS 2026

Registration is now open for the ABPA Merit Award for Applicable Research, a scientific recognition that the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) will promote during SIAVS 2026 – International Animal Protein Show, the largest poultry and swine farming event in Brazil, which will be held from August 4th to 6th, at the Anhembi Exhibition Center, in São Paulo (SP).

The initiative includes two distinctions, aimed at valuing research with effective practical applicability for the animal protein production chain:

  • ABPA Applied Research Merit – Major Areas, aimed at scientific work with an impact in the areas of production, management, and environment; nutrition; technology and processes; health; sustainability; and public health.
  • ABPA Award for Applied Research – AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance), aimed exclusively at studies addressing strategies, tools, indicators, and practices related to the responsible use of antimicrobials and combating antimicrobial resistance in animal production, a strategic theme for the sector and aligned with international One Health principles – within the scope of the campaign “Conscious Use, Responsible Future,” maintained by ABPA.

The objective of Merit is to stimulate research that goes beyond the academic environment and presents concrete applicability, contributing to gains in efficiency, sanitary safety, sustainability, and international competitiveness of Brazilian poultry and swine farming.

The submitted works will be evaluated by a judging committee composed of specialists with recognized technical and academic backgrounds. Among the criteria considered are:

  • Strategic relevance for the sector
  • Degree of innovation
  • Methodological consistency
  • Practical applicability
  • Production chain impact potential

After the evaluation stage, the selected works will be presented during the official SIAVS program, increasing their visibility among businesspeople, researchers, health authorities, and national and international representatives.

As a form of recognition, the first author of the winning work in each of the two distinctions will participate, with the organization's support, in an international experience at one of the main global food fairs, with the option to choose between SIAL Paris 2026 in Paris or Gulfood 2027 in Dubai. This initiative provides immersion in the international business and innovation environment, strengthening the strategic training of researchers.

Registration must be completed according to the instructions available on the event's official website, which also includes the complete regulations, deadlines, submission format, and other information: https://siavs.com.br/trabalho-cientifico/
