Featuring multiple attractions, the stand will include a spirometry booth that supports accurate diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD.
August 2024 - Boehringer Ingelheim has confirmed its participation in SIAVS 2024, the International Animal Protein Exhibition, to be held from August 6 to 8 at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo. The company’s stand will explore the theme “Interconnected Health”, bringing together teams from its Human Health and Animal Health divisions.
Among the attractions, visitors will find an interactive panel with relevant information about the poultry and pork markets and Brazil’s role in this global chain, as well as insights into Boehringer Ingelheim’s portfolio and its activities in both species. Another highlight is the “Health Space” on August 7, which will feature a spirometry booth. The exam measures the volume and flow of air that can be inhaled or exhaled, supporting the diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD. The test is performed by a qualified spirometry technician using equipment connected to computerized systems that generate graphical and numerical data for specialist analysis. In addition, representatives from the Association of the Visually Impaired of Indaiatuba, ADVI, will offer massage sessions to visitors as a way to promote health and well being. Finally, on August 6 and 7, a nurse will be available to perform blood glucose tests and blood pressure checks for guests.
“In this edition, we decided to bring a new approach within the concept of interconnected health that guides our work, where animal and human health are linked by an inseparable bond due to daily contact with animals, whether on farms or with pets in our homes, as well as food safety and the fight against zoonoses such as salmonellosis, another topic we consistently bring to the discussion,” says Abílio Alessandri, Poultry and Swine Director at Boehringer Ingelheim. “We invite all producers attending the event to visit our stand and enjoy the activities we have carefully prepared,” he adds.
According to Dr. Thais Melo, Medical Director of Boehringer Ingelheim in Brazil, the presence of the spirometry booth at SIAVS aligns with the company’s mission. “One of Boehringer Ingelheim’s main purposes is to go beyond providing medicines, facilitating people’s access to diagnosis and early treatment, contributing to shorter patient journeys and improved quality of life,” she explains.
