She holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), obtained in 1989, with specializations in Food Technology from the Federal University of Lavras and in Public Health from the University of Ribeirão Preto. She has served as a Federal Agricultural Audit Officer since 2001.
