He holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the State University of Ceará and a Master’s degree in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Viçosa. He completed doctoral studies at the Institute of Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais and at the University of Sydney, Australia.
