SIAVS: deadline for scientific paper submissions is May 31

The deadline for submitting research projects to the ABPA Applied Research Merit Award is May 31. The initiative is promoted by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) during the International Animal Protein Show (SIAVS), which will take place from August 6 to 8 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo.

This year’s edition is exclusively for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Brazilian universities.

Research projects related to the following areas are eligible for submission: Production, Management and Housing; Nutrition; Technology, Processes and Public Health; Animal Health; and Environmental Sustainability in poultry, swine, beef cattle and farmed fish production.

A judging committee made up of academics and professionals from the agribusiness chain will evaluate the projects based on criteria such as applicability to the production chain and other factors.

As recognition for the dedication and excellence of the work carried out, the top ranked paper will receive airfare and accommodation to participate in an international initiative organized by ABPA at one of the world’s largest food trade shows, either Gulfood in the United Arab Emirates or SIAL Paris in France, according to the researcher’s choice. The main authors of the second and third ranked papers will receive gifts as an incentive to continue their research and scientific studies.

Submissions will be accepted until May 31. To participate, students must register for the SIAVS lecture program. The rules for submission and presentation of papers, as well as additional information, are available in the SCIENTIFIC PAPER section on the website.
